The only caveat using those AO parts, is their size: This will need a good heatsink if the load is on for more than a second or two, but it is no issue if it gets millisecond pulses every few seconds. Please bear in mind that eventhough a logic level FET, the IRLN is not at dwtasheet lowest resistance at 5 Volt, but it shld be low enough to make 10 amp no problem.

Using the transistor to drive the gate with higher voltage solved the problem. See the reference below: Datawheet a baseresistor of say Ohm. Then you can find the current in the datasheet? With regard to 9V and 5V input, I presume you mean supply voltage. Another thing to beware of in datasheets is Vthresh threshhold voltage.
Sorry no T2 and R1. Thanks for your contribution. Also, from the graphs, Ids changes with Vds, is it because of the channel shortening effect? It is not a true logic level mosfet, it needs some 10 volts.
Keep an eye on the temperature though when you start using it with 8 amps. I am not sure what voltage you need but you may try this one a 30n Sorry, your blog cannot share irf922 by email. However it has a datashheet low Rdson.

Now you want to put current through a coil. Whats about this, I have check in the datasheet and seems to work very well at TTL levels even with a lot of Amps. Was that the same as for the mosfet? Excellent post, was very illuminating! Would be interested to hear how the FET holds out on 8 Amps. Say that is 2 Volt. If for instance you want to switch 5A in a 12V circuit and you only want to waste 0.

Is there any logic mosfet capable to drive 25 Amperes? Thanks Adriaan, Though technically it is a voltage divider, that is not really the function of it. Not sure though what bridge you need.
